Restored Aerocar travel trailer

The RV? A 1936 Curtiss Aerocar Travel Trailer, with lounge, bathroom, and a galley with running water at the sink. The tow vehicle is a 1938 D15, built by International. In its time, we're told the Aerocar would sell for around $5,000.

I think this may be the first "5th wheel" trailer. The actual 5th wheel was a wheel and tire set into the trunk of the towing vehicle. The axle provided the mount for the trailer and some radial motion for turning. the rubber tire provided some cushioning and bracing for the mount. All in all a very clever system!
