RV doubles as sailboat

RV enthusiasts who lament they can't bring their boat along on trips can rejoice in a new motorhome that serves as both a recreational vehicle and a boat.

The eco-friendly Harmony by industrial designer Weili Feng is a concept RV powered by a hydrogen battery with four in-wheel motors plus a solar paddle that can be used as a sail and solar energy harvesting system. On water, a jet drive moves the vehicle along. And don't think this compact RV lacks amenities: it's said to sleep four with leisure areas, a toilet, kitchen and entertainment system.

So where can you buy one? Nowhere! Not yet, anyway.

Can't help but want to put a turkey head on the front, with a red wattle (or whatever that's called) LOL!!

I don't know if we'll ever see this beyond the design stage, but it is interesting.

As I understood it, that "sail" was actually a solar panel, so you might not be technically a "sailboat"....since the jet drive is what moves the thing.

Ha ha ha. Looks to me like they broke down and are trying to flag down a tow dolphin.

Nice try. I wonder if they checked on how well jet drives work on slow boats. Have you ever heard of them being used on cabin cruisers. There is a reason that they are not used.

Steve, a sailboater.
