"Golden Gate": Artist turns out RV

Jay Nelson is an artist not limited to working with paint on canvas or sculpting stuff out of clay. The 32 year-old San Francisco resident envisioned and crafted "Golden Gate" which he describes as "an electric camper car."

Structured out of fiberglass and plywood, the rig--could we call it a "motorhome" of sorts--averages 10 miles-per-hour with a top speed of 20. Motoring down the road requires the driver to sit cross-legged behind the wheel. Like any good RV, Golden Gate has a galley with sink, stove, and cooler; a toilet and bed complete the interior works.

Don't expect mass production on this RV, which incidentally measures 96" x 54" x 64".

Cute....not for a cross country trip, to be sure, as I guess going over the Rockies would take about 2 weeks!!
At first, I thought this was just an electric assist tricycle....which might have actually made more sense, as I have one of those at home, and it's quite handy for DW to ride, and get home when she's tired.

The ability to pedal it, would help when the sun wasn't charging the batteries.

Bet it gets a rid "rank" in there with the toilet within inches of you, as you drive??
